Open roles, board by board

Each board counts differently, so each gets its own scale. Hollow markers are readings the tracker has not confirmed yet.

ITviec: open IT roles

Vietnam’s largest IT-only job board. A full count of every listing, and the cleanest series we have.

LinkedIn: software developer jobs in Vietnam

Signed-in search results. LinkedIn now caps what it shows, so this series pauses until we have a clean count again.

TopDev: IT listings, without MB Bank

The noisiest board. One bank posts a third or more of its headline count, so we take it out, and the total still swings with the site’s own counting. Read the direction, not the level.

VietnamWorks no longer shows a full count to visitors who are not signed in, so it is not charted.

In-house centres are a small, senior slice of the market: about 8% of open IT roles, but 58% of them senior, lead or manager. Their hiring fell from 66 open roles in early August to 23 on 3 Sep, then came back to 56 at 19 centres on 8 Oct. Japanese shows up in 4.8% of their ads that state a language, against 3.2% elsewhere.

Who is hiring

  • 19%of open roles come from banks, fintechs and securities firms (3 September count)
  • 10 of 96AI roles came from one employer, and it is a bank: MB Bank
  • 341companies are hiring; 195 of them for a single role
  • ~31 daysmedian time a role stayed live before it came down

What it means if you are hiring

Senior people are the scarce part.
Nearly half the market is chasing senior and lead engineers. Brief wide and screen hard, or the shortlist is whoever is left.
AI talent is contested.
Banks and product companies are hiring the same AI engineers you want. Expect AI roles to take longer, and decide fast when the right person appears.
The window is open now.
With fewer open roles than in August, good senior engineers are easier to reach. If the trend holds, it is a good quarter to secure them.

How we can help

Two companies, one standard: measure from the code, not from promises. vitX adds engineers to your team. Our sister company Nessoris measures and assesses what a whole company has built.

Engineers inside your team

  • Senior engineers who work with AI agents

Vietnamese engineers who join your team and work your way. We brief the part of our partner network that fits the role, screen every candidate against one bar, and you sign one contract with vitX Global in Singapore.

    How embedded engineers work
  • Every engineer we deploy, benchmarked

Each engineer is benchmarked and the code they ship is assessed, so you see what every person delivers from the code itself, not from timesheets.

    How we measure engineers

Our sister company

  • Benchmark your whole engineering organisation

Every team, delivery partner and AI tool measured from the code, and compared with more than 120,000 engineers.

    See the company benchmark
  • Code assessment and technical due diligence

A source code and engineering assessment in ten business days, for a deal or a product you own: debt costed in person-days, key-person and open-source risk, every finding checked by a reviewer.
